Sam Burchfield

May 2, 1939 ~ July 15, 2016 (age 77) 77 Years Old

Mr. Sam Burchfield, age 77, of Chatsworth passed away on July 15, 2016 at his residence.

Mr. Burchfield  was a member of the Chatsworth First Methodist Church for 44 years where he served as treasurer.  He served on the Murray County Commissioner Board, Chatsworth Housing Authority, and The Murray County Hospital Board. Mr. Burchfield was a member of the Kwanis Club, North Georgia University of Georgia Bulldog Club and a longtime season ticket holder. He was the voice of the Murray County Indians in the late  1970's and early 1980's and a avid Atlanta Braves fan.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Sam W. and Frances (Parker) Burchfield and a brother Ralph Burchfield.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years. Lou Burchfield. Children and spouses, David and Sharon Burchfield of Rocky Face,  Wendy and Rodney Jarrard of Cumming. Grandchildren and spouse, Sarah Ashley and Pete Costanza, Julia Edwards, John Jarrard and Sam Jarrard. Great Granddaughters, Emma and Zoey Costanza.  Brothers and sisters in law, Eddie and Betty Burchfield of Duluth, GA, Tom and Helen Burchfield of South Carolina, John and Carol Burchfield of Dalton, Judy Burchfield of Dalton. 

Funeral Services will be Monday 12 noon at the Chatsworth First Methodist Church wity Rev. Tamlyn Collins officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitfield Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the Chatsworth First Methodist Church, Monday 10 am till 11:45 am.  Flowers will be accepted or make donations to Chatsworth First Methodist Church, PO 152, Chatsworth, GA 30705.
