Mr. Willie Joe Stafford "Chubby" passed away June 15, 2016. He was born at the old home place in Cohutta Springs, GA on March 16, 1935. He resided in the Crandall area his entire life. Willie was the son of George Washington Stafford Sr. and "Pearl" Mellicia Dora Poteet Stafford. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Earl "Bird", Stanton "Duck", LC "Bud", George Raymond, George "Dee" Stafford, Clarence "Windy" Stafford, Thomas Jefferson Stafford, and Ray "John" Stafford; sister Mrtyle Rosene "Mandy" Stafford Copeland, and grandsons Nicholas A. Callihan and Timothy L. Callihan.
Mr. Stafford is survived by his wife of 58 and half years Nancy Ruth Keener Stafford, his children: David E. Stafford, Darren Stafford and wife Cathy, Diana Stafford Callihan, his grandchildren, David A. Stafford, Joshua and Emma Lyles, Samantha Stafford, Erin Callihan and Sarah Callihan; his sister Betty Stafford Parrot; many nieces and nephews also survive.
Willie attended Hopewell Baptist Church at Doogen. He enjoyed bluegrass and gospel music. He will be laid to rest at Fairy Valley Baptist Cemetery amongst his family, whom he loved very much.
The family will receive friends at Shawn Chapman Funeral Home on Thursday, June 16 from 5-9 pm. Funeral services will be Friday, June 17 at 4 pm in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home. Interment will be at Fairy Valley Cemetery.
