Jean Vest Smith of Lyerly, GA., formerly of Woodstock, passed away at home on Thursday, October 22, 2015 after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease.
Born December 5, 1928 in Tennga, GA. to the late Arthur J Vest and Fannie Ledford Vest. She moved to Marietta, GA. in the late 1940's. There she studied medical technology. Jean will be remembered by her many patients she helped care for while at the Medical Arts Lab.
Jean is survived by her children: Gwen and George Fisher of Lyerly, GA., Gary and Sue Smith of Crossville, TN., Dial and David Dangar of Woodstock, GA., Col. (Ret) Andy Smith and Lt. Co. (Ret) Beth Rowley of Bumpass, VA., Grandchildren: David and Debbie Dangar of Jacksonville, FL., Jennifer and Heath Cather of Birmingham, AL., George III and Jennifer Fisher of Plantation, FL., Rebekah and George Fowler of Summerville, GA., Sarah L Dangar of Woodstock, GA., Taylor Smith and Reilly Smith of Bumpass, VA., three great grandchildren: Daniel and David Cather, Carolyn Fowler , one brother Arthur J Vest Jr. of Texas, sisters: Sara Greene, Mary Crisp and Sallie Parker (Charles) of Chatsworth, GA. and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service for Mrs. Smith will be on November 27, 2015 at 12:30 PM at the North Cobb Church of Christ, with Minister Don Giles officiating. Honorary pall bearers will be her grandsons and grand sons-in-law: David Dangar, Jr., George Fisher 111, Taylor Smith, Reilly Smith, Heath Cather, & George Fowler.
