William Edward "Sonny" Baynes passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Hamilton Medical Center surrounded by his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents W.A. (Bill) and Margie Baynes; grandparents, Tom and Parilee Green, Edmond and Nancy Baynes, brothers, Harold and Grover Baynes. sisters, Willa Mae Gallman, Frances and Cecil Bramblett, Christene and Marlin Kilgore, Bunny, and Reginald Brindle; father and mother-in-law Joe B. and Bonnie Ellis; sister-in-law Becky Baynes and brother-in-law Dave Forrest.

Sonny is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Joyce Baynes; son and daughter-in-law Edward A. (Eddie) and Tracey Baynes. grandchildren Brittney and Christian Broome, Amy and Colby Cook, Zack and Frankie Williams, Jeff Pruitt, Alicia, and Tyler Ware. great-grandchildren Grayson and Emmy Pruitt, Violet Williams, and Sammy Williams.Drayden Willis and Kingsley Brown and Niyah Ware. sisters and brother-in-law, Georgia and Harold Ridley, sister, Dimple Forrest, and sister-in-law Ann Baynes. Aunt Willa Mae Cook and Uncle Robert Green. Special Nephews Clay and Amos Ridley. Many Nieces and nephews also survive.

A service to honor the life of Sonny Baynes will be Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 2 pm with Pastor Edmond Kilgore officiating. The interment will be in the Antioch Baptist Church (Dalton) cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, August 31, 2024, from 11 am until the funeral hour at 2 pm.
