Mr. Weston Self, age 89, of Dalton, passed away at home on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Edith Self, loving wife of 61 years, JoAnn Self, daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Joe Glass, son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Sheila Self, and son Kevin.

He is survived by his daughter Connie (Perry) Fleming of Chatsworth, daughter-in-law Carletta Self of Chatsworth, sister Patsy Self of Eton, grandchildren James (Rhonda) Thomas of Dalton, Shane (Alisia) Self of Dalton, Micah Fleming of Chatsworth, Courtney (David) Chambers of Chatsworth, Amanda (Bobby) Arp of Chatsworth, Joy Fleming of Dalton, Jeremy (Vita) Burnette of Dalton, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He served in the Navy Reserves. He loved working in his garden. He was very loved and will be greatly missed.

A service to honor the life of Weston Self will be held at 3 pm Friday, June 28, 2024, in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Davis and Rev. Shane Williams officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, June 28, 2024, from 11 am to 3 pm.
