Mr.Walter Dennis Chapman age 89 of Chatsworth, GA departed this life on Wednesday morning February 5, 2025. He was born March 16, 1935, the son of the late Merle and Delanie Chapman.

He was also preceded in death by his wife Sarah Lee Ponders Chapman; his children Susie Chapman, Delaine Hullender, Pat Brooks, Walter Chapman, Buster Chapman, brothers, Hurshel and  Robert Chapman. 

He is survived by his loving wife Martha Delores Chapman; daughter and son-in-law Kay and Ronnie Stanley; brother Claude Chapman; son-in-law Larry Brooks; stepdaughters Kerri Rollins and Sherry Clark; half-sisters Kay Ratcliff and Fayes Miles; half-brothers Grady Lewis, Travis Chapman, Bobby Chapman, and Marvin Chapman; Bowers Family; grandkids Serena York, Bart, and Vanessa Crawford, Chris Stanley and Billy Koger, Janet Cooper, Melissa, and Ray Woodward, Shirl Brooks, Joy and Derek McCullough, William, and Cherish Chapman; 19 great grandkids; 14 great grandkids; and lots of nieces and nephews.

He enjoyed Nascar, working on cars, and watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. He loved his cats, Bo and Bobby, and working in his garden and yard. He was everyone’s hero.

A service to honor the life of Walter Dennis Chapman will be held Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 11 am in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Anna McConathy officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 5 pm to 9 pm. The interment will be at New Hope Kilgore Cemetery.
