With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved “Dude,” W V Ridley, Jr., who left us peacefully on Monday, February 17th. He was 92 years old.

Dude found joy in a carefree life and the simple pleasures that mattered most: family, honest work, and his cherished white with blue cab 1977 Ford F-100 truck, which he lovingly cared for and drove with pride. He spent many years creating value at Dalton Carpet.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patsy. He is survived by his daughter, Cathy Ridley; grandson and wife, Grant and Jenna Overby; brother, Harlen Ridley; brother and sister-in-law, Randy and Carolyn Ridley.

We invite family and friends to join us in honoring Dude and saying our final goodbyes at Shawn Chapman Funeral Home in Chatsworth on February 21, 2025, at 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Robert Overyby officiating, The interment will be in  Welcome Hill Baptist Church Cemetery  ( Elrod Cemetery).  The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, February 20, 2025, from 5 pm to 8 pm.
