Virginia Pierce, age 86, passed away on July 31, 2025. She was a lifelong resident of Chatsworth, GA, where she and her late husband built a house and raised their children. She
enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, such as spending time with her grandkids, listening to music, and watching Andy Griffith. Virginia will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and
unwavering love for her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Pierce, her daughter, Michelle Hodge, her grandchild, Laura Ann Finneran, her brother Bobby Rainey, and her brother John Rainey.

She is survived by her daughter, Sherrian Finneran of Falls Church, VA; son-in-law, Jeff Hodge, of Cleveland, TN; her stepdaughters, Helen Costner, Sandy Costner, and Kathy Phillips, all of Tennga, GA. She also leaves behind six grandkids and three great-grandkids. Her family grieves the loss of an amazing woman. A visitation in her honor will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Shawn Chapman Funeral Home in Chatsworth, GA.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Virginia will take place the following day, Friday, August
8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., also at Shawn Chapman Funeral Home.
Interment following funeral services at West Hill Cemetery in Dalton, GA
