Tessa Marie Southerland Obituary

Tessa Marie Quinn Southerland, age 38, of Dalton, passed away on February 28th after a 7-year battle with cancer.


Tessa was born in Dalton on September 21, 1984. She went to Murray County High School. She enjoyed her days as a stay-at-home mother to her three children.


Tessa was survived by her Father, Tim Quinn: her mother, Donna Quinn; brother,  Jody Phillips, and wife Vickie Phillips: her daughter, Peyton Quinn:  her two sons, Riley Ketchem and Brantley Southerland, her nanny  Linda, and Sarah Cannon: her precious dog, Ollie:  and numerous other friends and family. Tessa was preceded in death by grandparents, Roy and Vola England and James Quinn: an aunt and uncle, Eva and Carl Human:  uncle,  William Eddie England, and her special cousin, Christopher Acree.


The family of Tessa wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Dr. Naguib and all of the staff at North Georgia Oncology Center.


A memorial service will be held at 6 pm, on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, in the chapel of  Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Michael Gazaway officiating. The family will receive friends on March 7, 2023, from 3 pm to 6 pm at the funeral home.
