Rowena Sanford Pittman, of Chatsworth, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2024. at Advent Murray Hospital.

Rowena was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chatsworth.

She was born on August 8, 1926, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. I.A. Sanford.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 76 years, Arnold (Sport) Pittman; sisters, Ina Hickey, Annie Lee Wilson, Thelma Wilson, and Lorraine Davis; brother, I.A. Sanford, and son-in-law Michael (Mike) Mathis.

She is survived by her son, Michael Pittman, daughter Brenda Pittman Mathis, granddaughter, Christy Sturgill; great-granddaughters, Presley (Alex) Glover, Kaylon (Aaron) Bennett, Great great-grandchildren, Maddox, and Olivia Glover, Asher Welch, and Creed Hawkins; sister, Bettye Davis; several nieces and nephews also survive. 

A service to honor the life of Rowena Pittman will be Monday, January 29, 2024, in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home, with Rev. George Ross officiating. The interment will be at Murray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, January 29, 2024, from 1 pm to 3 pm.  Pallbearers are Randall Davis, Billy Sanford, Jim Davis, Robert Wilson, Wade Owens, and Troy Owens.
