Ross C. Mynes, 91, of Chatsworth, GA, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2025, at Pleasant Valley Assisted Living Home in Dalton, GA. His family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Pleasant Valley for their kindness and care during Ross’s final days.

Ross was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved the outdoors—especially hunting and fishing—and in his retirement, he spent many fulfilling hours working with his hands through woodworking. He was a longtime member of Blue Ridge Primitive Baptist Church in Chatsworth.

Born in Lincoln County, WV, Ross was the son of the late Robert and Nelsie Mynes. He was preceded in death by his daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Steve Mathis; sons, Micheal Mynes and Johnny Mynes; and grandson, Wade Mynes.

Ross is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Carol Mynes; his brother, Ernest Mynes of Sod, WV; brother and sister-in-law, Romie and Lynn Mynes of Silver Creek, GA; son, Randy Mynes and late daughter-in-law Renee Mynes of AL; son, David Mynes and Amy Bryant of Chatsworth, GA.

He also leaves behind many cherished grandchildren: Derrick Mynes of GA, Jessi Mynes of AL, Amanda Miles of Calhoun, GA, Crystal Newgen of Chatsworth, GA, and Allanah Talley of Sugar Valley, GA; great-grandchildren: Kyra Sheron, Sydney Willingham, Wadein Willingham, Mylinda Richardson, Nina Neuhoff, Rain Soren, Tristen Newgen, and Austin Newgen; and great-great-grandchildren: Paisley Neuhoff, Avery Neuhoff, and Emberly Newgen.

Ross’s life was enriched by the love of many special friends, including Bonnie and Jackie Crisp, Frankie Short, and Bobby Garner.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Chatsworth Heights Cemetery. Kyle Green will officiate.
