Ronald Douglas Norton, age 55, passed away peacefully at his residence on February 23, 2024.
Ronald worked at Shaw Industries for 20-plus years, he was a member of The Good Samaritan Baptist Church in Dalton GA. He loved riding his motorcycle, being around family and friends, he loved to talk, and he never met a stranger.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Bernice Norton; grandmother, Ruby Mazer; sister, Melinda Norton; brother, Larry Crumley, Author Watson; father-in-law, Charlie Pelfrey; sister-in-law, Diane Norton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Becky Norton; daughter, Brittany Norton; son Bailey Norton; father, James Norton, brother, Barry Norton; sisters, Kathy (Ben) Ledford, Regina Norton, Misty Tucker Watson; brother in law, Albert (Lynn)Pelfrey; mother-in-law, Patty (Tommy) Davis; and sister-in-law, Lara Crumley; nieces and nephews, Tara (Jimmy) Pace, Brandy Broyes, Thomas (Meghan) Broyles, J.J. (Ciera) Burke, Nick (Rachel) Jenkins, Tyle (Kayla) Tucker, Micheal (Nikki) Pelfrey, and Sara Matthews; special friends Kyle and Kendra Hensley; several nieces and nephews and friends also survive.
A service to honor the life of Ronald Norton will be at 2 pm Friday, March 1, 2024, at the Ider Methodist Church; 20652 Hwy. 117 Ider AL 3598, With Chris Norton officiating. The interment will be in the Fuller Cemetery Memorial Dr. Ider AL 35981
He will lie in state at the church from 1 pm to 2 pm. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 pm to 8 pm on Thursday, February 29, 2024.
