Rev. Phillip Mathis Obituary

Reverend Phillip Mathis, age 78, of Calhoun, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 27, 2022.

Preceded in death by his parents, John Henry and Debbie Sue Mathis, and brother and sister-in-law, Stevie and Joyce Mathis.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Mathis of Calhoun; children and spouses, Jerome and Jacqueline Mathis of Chatsworth, Cindy and Blane Justice of Chatsworth, Jeff and April Mathis, of Chatsworth Tina Rene Mathis Braun of Chatsworth, Tonya and David Touchstone of Ringgold, Harleigh Faith Mathis of Calhoun; stepchildren, Marty and Dena Carroll of Calhoun, Ththon and Peggy Carroll, Lisa and Allen Clayton of Cleveland, Loretta and Tony Callahan of Dalton Mike and Destin Jones of Calhoun; sisters, Joann Mathis of Dalton, Kaye Mathis Moss of Chatsworth, Gail Mathis, Shirley Moore of Nashville, Regina Tuell of Nashville, brother and sister-in-law, Willard Doyle and Jeanette Mathis OF Pulaski TN, Tony J. Mathis, 14 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephew, and cousins also survive.

A service to honor the life of Rev. Phillip Mathis will be 1 pm on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home, with Pastor Jerry Stewart, Bill Jones, and Wayne Childers officiating. The interment will be at Dewberry Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, from 5 pm to 8 pm.
