Mr. Philip Thomas Howell, age 76, of Resaca, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 1, 2024, after a long battle with cancer.
He was drafted into the Vietnam War. Came home and worked in the carpet industry. He was also a deputy and police officer in Gilmer County. He loved the Lord and was ready to discuss the Bible with anyone. He was a Conservative and had very strong views of the politics. If you knew him you knew he was for Trump all the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Harley Howell and Juanita Dorothy "Richards" Howell.
Survivors are his wife of 12 years Dimple Clydene "Weaver" Howell, son and daughter in law Nicholas and Chrissy Howell, sons Evan Howell and Justin Howell. Brother and sister in law Doug and Nancy Howell. Grandsons Dakota Moore, Ryder Howell, Carter Howell, Parker Howell and Sawyer Howell and lots of extended family.
A Memorial service will be held Saturday, June 8 at 5pm at A Place To Worship. Jeff Johnson officiating. His remains will be placed at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, Ga.
