Mr. Paul A. Parker, age 66, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 29, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.
He was known for being a wonderful husband, dad, pawpaw, and steadfast friend.
Paul was affectionately known by many as the “Maytag Man” after spending decades in the appliance repair business. Throughout his career, he developed many special friendships with customers within the Dalton and Chatsworth areas. He was a talented guitar player who loved to play, sing, and listen to gospel and bluegrass music. Paul also enjoyed classic cars and used his mechanical skills to fully restore a 1966 Volkswagen Beetle. He truly enjoyed traveling with his fifth-wheel camper and spending time with his family and friends on camping trips.
He faithfully served Jesus Christ throughout his life and attended Crosspointe Church in Dalton, GA.
Paul was born October 5, 1955 in Chatsworth, GA, a son of the late Hershel and Willie Bell Parker. He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Reverend James Davenport and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, RD and Willie Ruth Carroll.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Denise Carroll Parker; son, Andrew (Brittany) Parker; daughter, Mollie Parker; grandchildren, Ella Grace and Matthew Paul Parker; brothers and sisters Harrison (Wanda) Parker, Dolly Davenport, Charles (Debra) Parker, Bobby (Diane) Parker, and Annette (Junior) Jackson; brother-in-law Maurice (Linda) Carroll and sisters-in-law Carolyn (Joe) Noble, Joyce (Jerry) Sollinger. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and a special friend, Tyler McBrayer.

Services to celebrate the life of Paul Parker will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home in Chatsworth with Pastors Stan Lester and Mike Douglas officiating. Interment will be in Murray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday. Arrangements by Shawn Chapman Funeral Home, 2362 Highway 76, Chatsworth, GA 30705.
