Melvin Townsend Obituary

Mr. Melvin Lewis Townsend 71, passed away November 10, 2021, at Hamilton Medical Center.

Mr. Townsend is preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Edna Townsend: wife Carolyn Stout Townsend, daughters, Carla Renee and Penny Michelle Townsend; son, Derris Dewayne Smith Jr: brothers Curtis, Troy, Bob, Steve, Charles, and Randy Townsend.

Survived by his companion, Terrosa Bishop: son and daughter in law, Jamey and Renee Townsend: daughters and sons-in-law, Tracy and James Campbell, Christy and Landon Blackwell, son, Brad Lee Townsend:10, grandchildren, 12, great-grandchildren: sister and brother in law, Selena Hice and Danny Sosebee.

The funeral service for Mr. Townsend will be Sunday, November 14, 2021, at 2 pm in the Chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home, with Pastor Mike Watkins officiating. The interment will be in The Harmony Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, November 13, 2021, from 5 pm to 9 pm
