Mary Elizabeth Roper

Mary Elizabeth Roper, age 77, of Chatsworth, GA passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2020, at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, FL.

Mary, or Maw-maw Bear as she was affectionately called by her granddaughter and so many that knew her, was one of the sweetest ladies here on earth and many describe her as an angel.

She was kind-hearted, humble, and gentle and always providing unconditional love to everyone she met. She will be greatly missed but we know that she is finally at peace and can watch over those she loved so dearly. She loved to square dance and had a wonderful talent for painting beautiful pictures. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Chatsworth and had a winter home in Bradenton FL.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lamar Roper: parents, Horace Elmer and Martha Stinnett Myers: siblings and spouses, Zella Mae and James Huskey, Elsie Kathleen and James Yarborough, Eugene Punay and Mary Sealy Myers, and infant sister, Susie Myers, Albert Land, Mildred Laverne and Paul Dickenson,  Linda Lou and Horace Hammontree.

She is survived by her son and daughter in law Hershell and DeAnna Davis Jr: granddaughter and spouse: Ashley Lauran and Blake Langford: grandsons Zachary and William Welchel: great-grandchildren Nikitta Harper, Emmary Frances, and Joella Langford: siblings, Edna Ruth Land, Horace Elmer and Linda Myers: special niece, Cindy Cooper, and many nieces and nephews also survive. 

A memorial service will be held to honor and celebrate her beautiful life on her birthday, June 27, 2020. A formal announcement will be provided at a later date. Due to COVID 19  virus the memorial service has been postponed and will be announced at a later time.
