Mary Geneva Carter, age 91 of Chatsworth passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Bennie Watkins; parents Willie and Cora Lee King Winkler; siblings D.A. Winkler, Willie Ruth Fowler, Walter Winkler, Ed Winkler, Joann Gregg, and Johnny Winkler; and stepdaughter Laura Carter.
She is survived by her loving husband, Warren Carter; daughter, Brenda Welch (Lisa Claudio) of Groveland FL; son, Jeff and Aimee Welch of Chatsworth; stepsons, Warren Carter Jr. (Carlene) grandchildren, Carey and Karen Young, Nikki Ridley, Josh Watkins, (Ashley) Kristi Welch, Tiffany Welch (Zackary Arrowood) Gabrielle Booker, Ronnie and Riley Distler.
A service to honor the life of Mary Geneva Carter will be held at noon on Tuesday, February 18, 2024, in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Johnson officiating. The interment will be at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, February 17, 2025, from 5 pm to 8 pm and on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, from 9 am to 12 pm
