Thomas Jess Jackson, 57, of Chatsworth, Georgia, passed away peacefully in his hometown. Born on July 7, 1967, in Chatsworth, Thomas dedicated his life to service, community, and family.
A proud and devoted member of the Georgia State Patrol, Thomas served with honor for over 30 years. Rising through the ranks to become a Lieutenant, he was known for his integrity, leadership, and unwavering commitment to public safety. His work brought him great pride, and he was deeply respected by colleagues and the community alike.
Beyond his distinguished career, Thomas loved spending time traveling the world. He especially enjoyed cruises, always looking forward to creating lasting memories and enjoying life’s simple pleasures.
Thomas is survived by his loving mother, Peggy Jackson; his daughter, Jessica Smith (Daniel) and two grandchildren; his sister, Genia Davis (Terry); and his cherished nieces and nephew: Courtney Garner (Michael), Crystal Davis, and Cameron Davis. He also leaves behind several great-nieces and a great-nephew, as well as a special friend, Conny Johnson, and her family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willard Jackson, and his sister, Telena Barton.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, June 29, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Shawn Chapman Funeral Home in Chatsworth. A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., with Gary Sosebee speaking. The interment is to follow at Murray Memorial Gardens.
Thomas will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his strength, loyalty, and the legacy he leaves behind.
