Larry Allen Flood

Larry Allen Flood, age 73, of Chatsworth, departed this life on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at his home.

Mr. Flood was an original member of the Search and Rescue Squad. One of his greatest joys was serving the people of Murray County.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Montie and Edna (Ridley) Flood; brother, Montie Flood Jr; sister Ann Harris.

Mr. Flood is survived by his life companion of 23 years Marchelle Burgess; daughters, Carrie Benson, Melanie Mayton, and Kristin Headrick; sons and daughters-in-law, Allen and Lauren Flood II and Bishop Nathan and Amber Headrick; grandchildren and his pride and joys, Parker, and Zackary Benson, Landon Stover, Rylan and Brooklyn Mayton, Kaylee, Hayden and Kinslee Flood, Hayley and Landon Burton, Malaki and Phoenix Perry, Logan, and Corbin Brown; sister and brother in law,  Nadine Flood and Donnie Copeland, several aunts, uncle, nieces, nephew, and cousins also survive.

A service to honor the life of Larry Flood will be at 2 pm Wednesday, August 23, 2023, in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Matthew Harris, Bobby Greene, and Nathan Headrick officiating. The interment will be in the Eton Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Monday, August 21, 2023, from 5 pm to 9 pm and on Tuesday. August 22,2023 from 9 am to 9 pm.
