L D Griggs

Mr. L D Griggs, age  89, of Dalton, passed away on January 31, 2024, at his residence.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Dock Henry and Rosie Lee Griggs, his wife of 70 years, Nellie Mae Griggs: sons, Gary Wayne and Daniel Lee Griggs, and grandson. Larry Dewayne: granddaughter, Karen Griggs: sisters, Jewell Barton, Bertie Manis, Omie Lou Adams, Mary Nell Chadwick and Lillie Hamilton: brothers, Glen, Grady and Homer Griggs:

He is survived by one daughter, Regina (Stanley) Baker:  sons, Kenneth and Terry Griggs: sister, Nellie Ruth Smith: brother, James (Wanda) Griggs:  eleven grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service for Mr. Griggs will be on Friday, February 2, at 3 PM in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Rev. Zachary Belcher officiating.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 1, from 5 until 8 PM at the funeral home.  The interment will be in West Hill Cemetery.
