Kenneth "Kenny " John Hunt Obituary

Kenneth (Kenny) John Hunt, age 54, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, June 15, 2025.


He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Oran and Jo Hogan of Chatsworth, Don and Peggy Hunt of Chattanooga. 


He is survived by his wife, Teresa Hunt; son, Zach Hunt; stepdaughter, Kayley Harris; stepson, Austin Scott; and mother, Nancy Shoemaker, all of Chatsworth; father, Barry Hunt of Chattanooga. brothers and sisters in-laws Daniel (Jennifer) Hunt and Craig (Jessica) Hunt, all of Chattanooga; step-brother and sister in-law, Greg (Leigh Ann) Shoemaker of Chatsworth; grandchildren, Maci Fowler, Emryn Fowler, and  Margot Hunt, all of Chatsworth; brother special friend  Tim Standfield, a bonus daughter Savannah Smith, nieces and nephews Emileigh Shoemaker, Kyle Shoemaker, Hannah (Jared) Peden, all of Chatsworth, Bayley Hunt, Breanna Hunt, Madison Clark. and Tucker Hunt. aunts and uncles, Jill Bailey (Chuck), Susan Nybo (Jerry), and Stephanie P. Peters ( Don Peters)


Kenny was the owner of Preferred Detail for over 30 years. His passion was restoring cars to their original beauty. He served on the Murray County Rescue Squad for 10 years and was a true asset to our community. Kenny loved helping people and was always there to lend a helping hand. His family was his entire world, and he worked hard to provide for them. He was very proud of his son Zach and adored his three granddaughters. Kenny loved to spoil his grandchildren, and they adored him.


The service to celebrate Kenny's life will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with  Rev. Harold Poteet, Mickey Sisk, and Michael Carter officiating. Interment will be at Holly Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. 


In lieu of flowers, donations can be made toward his final expenses.
