Johnnie Sue (Hall) Lowery Obituary

Johnnie Sue (Hall) Lowery, age 70, of Chatsworth, Georgia passed away peacefully Monday, June 23, 2025, at her home with family. Sue was born on April 25, 1955 in Benton,Tennessee.

Sue was known for her warmth, kindness, determination, strength, and her wish to care for others.  She said God placed a calling on her heart for  those that needed a helping hand.  Sue answered that call by founding Helping Hands Food Pantry Inc. , a non-profit 501c3.  For 15 years she provided food, friendship, encouragement, and more to members of Chatsworth, Eton, Dalton, and surrounding communities. Throughout those years she helped over 30,000 families and more than 86,000 individuals, reluctantly closing the doors only when health issues made it a necessity.

Sue is survived and forever cherished by her loving husband and sweetheart of almost 52 years, Kenneth Allen Lowery, her daughters Deneva Baldwin( Thomas) and Hazel Moore, her grandchildren Tristin Ridley, Calab Ridley, Tarryn Little, Hannah Ridley, Saraynah Ridley, Lexi Cross, and Ryder Owens, and her great grandchildren, Elizabeth Ridley, Enzo Cortez, and Calab Ridley, her siblings, Jimmy Hall, Helen Barnett, Charlotte Gibson, Katrina Nichols, and Juanita Jones, and many extended family.

She was preceded into eternal rest by her parents, James Henry Hall and Hazel Betty (Jenkins) Hall, brothers Gene Hall, Little James Hall, Little Henry Hall, sisters Gayle Hall and Karen Daisy, and 5 great-grandchildren, The Little Angels.

A beloved soul who touched many lives and left us way too soon, Sue will be deeply missed and will live on in the hearts of family, friends, and all those she helped.

The family will receive friends at Shawn Chapman’s Funeral Home in Chatsworth, Georgia, on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.  A funeral service will be held in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 2 p.m. with no graveside service.  Burial will be at Center Hill Cemetery.
