John “Waymon” Winters, age 71, went home to be with the Lord after losing his battle with cancer.
Waymon was born August 23, 1951, to the late Gordon and Ada Winters.
Survived by his wife of 48 years, Wanda Winters; his children and spouses, Bryan and Lisa Winters of Cleveland TN, Tammy and Hank Hancock of Chatsworth GA; grandsons who loved and called him pawpaw, Adrian and Connor Winters, Bentley Hancock, Brody, and Bryan Hambright; sisters and brothers in laws, Janice and Jerry McGill and family, Julie and Randall Pilcher and family; half brother Arvil Winters; half sister Brenda Jones, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and friends also survive.
Waymon served in the United States Army. He was a ham radio operator, KC4UVD with Dalton Amateur Radio Club, and was Employed at Mohawk Industries for 51 years.
A service to honor the life of Waymon Winters will be 2 pm on November 19, 2022, in the Chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Pastor Jeremiah Quarles officiating. The interment will be in the Murray Memorial Garden.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday, November 19, 2022.
