On Thursday, January 28, 2021, Jimmy Steed Cope, age 74, passed away at his residence.
He was a loving husband, father, and papaw.
Jimmy was born October 18, 1946, in Dalton, Georgia, to the late William and Thelma Cope.
On July 3, 1976, he married Amelia Yvonne O'Bryant. Together they raised two sons, Mitchell and Douglas.
Jimmy retired from J & J Industries after a faithful 28 years. He also loved to spend time at the flea markets.
He is survived by his wife, Amelia: sons and daughter in law, Mitchell Cope and Douglas (Nancy) Cope grandchildren, which were the light of his life, Makayla, Caden, and Caitlyn: sisters and brothers in law, Margaret (Winston) Allen, Nancy (Russell), Cline, Sharon (Gary) Fowler: brothers and sisters in law, Jim (Claudette) O'Bryant, Terry (Kathy) O'Bryant: Numerous nieces and nephews and their families also survive: Also special friend, Rev. James Smith.
A private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please give a donation to your favorite charity.
