Jim “Ox” Cox, age 88, of Chatsworth passed away peacefully, Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He is preceded in death by his wife Jewelene Ballew Cox; father, John Cox; mother, Lillie Cox; sisters, Winnie Parrot, Nolan Frazier, Mammie Higdon, Geneva Headrick, Grace Cox “Cork”; brothers, Luck Cox “Buck” John Cox “Shack” Bill Cox, Millard Cox “Dink”; special nephew, Ray Cox; sisters in law, Marga Fowler, and Marsha Ballew.
Survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Cathy “C.C.” Cox of Calhoun; grandchildren Kaci Cox of Resaca and Craig Cox of Ringgold; brother-in-law Ernie Ballew of Chatsworth, Willard and Leslie Ballew of Chatsworth; special nephew Bob and JoAnn Cox; special friends William, Crystal and Patti Pritchett; several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
A service to honor the life of Jim Cox will be 4 pm Friday, September 30, 2022, in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home, with Rev. Lamar Beason officiating. The interment will be at the Sumach Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, September 30, 2022, from 1 pm to 4 pm.
