Jerry Ronald "Ronnie Bivens

Mr. Jerry Ronald  Bivens "Ronnie", age 72, of Chatsworth, passed away November 19, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Ronnie was employed by Shaw Industries for 32 years. He was a member of Welcome Hill Baptist Church. Prior to his professional career, he was a Vietnam veteran serving from 1968-1969 as a pilot. Ronnie was known for many things Vietnam veteran, Purpleheart recipient, loving husband, father, grandfather, family member, and friend. His favorite moniker was "papa" to his three loving grandchildren, who thought he was the best thing ever. His memory will live on within them.

He is proceeded in death by his parents; father Jewel Bivens and mother Sue Gulledge; grandparents, Arthur and Nola Bivens; father-in-law and mother-in-law Raymond and  Johnnie and Ruth Parrish: son-in-law John David Gaddy III.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Joanne Bivens ( Parrish), and children Jeremy Bivens of Chatsworth and Jennifer Gaddy of Chattanooga, TN. Sister-in-law Linda Dempsey (Tunnel Hill), grandchildren Marlee and Barrett Gaddy and Scout Wade of Chattanooga, sister Rebecca Rhoden and many loving cousins also survive.

Services for Mr. Bivens will be on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at 3 in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Bro. Travis Martin officiating. The interment will follow at Center Valley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11-3.
