Jane (Smith) Ridley Obituary

Betty “Jane” Ridley, of Calhoun, went to be with the Lord, on Saturday, June 1, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Jane loved her family and loved spending time with them. She awaited her granddaughter Rowen's arrival, who was her pride and joy. She devoted her life to loving people and was a friend to all she met. She showed that love with the children that rode her bus she always referred to them as her” bus kids” She also had a love of antiques she and her husband Ronnie owned Ridley Antiques for over 25 years. She will be missed by all.


She is preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Virginia Smith; brother, Steve Smith; grandparents, Walters and Beatrice Chapman. 


She is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Ronnie Ridley of Calhoun; daughter and son-in-law Nicole “Nikki” and Chandler Walter of Calhoun; granddaughter, Rowen Walter; sister, Janet Smith of Ringgold; niece, Makala Penney; nephews, Dawson Penney and Derek Smith; aunt, Eleanor Silvers; several cousins also survive.


A service to honor the life of Jane Ridley will be at 2 pm Wednesday, June 5, 2024, in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Devon Cantrell officiating. A private family interment will follow.


The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, from 5 pm to 8 pm.
