James Melvin Waters, age 61 of Ranger GA passed away Friday, May 17, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.

He retired from the Whitfield County Public Works in December of 2022. He was an outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing and enjoyed cutting up. He loved life to the fullest.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Betty Waters.

He is survived by his loving wife Terry Elrod; stepson, Christian Elrod (Shanda Payne)  all of Ranger; sister, and brother-in-law, Maxine and Tony Everette of Eton. nephew Wayne Johnson of Dalton; great-nephew Mathew and Taylor Johnson of Chatsworth; great-niece Kailyn Johnson of Dalton; aunt Lorene Pless of Eton; uncle and aunt, Tommy and Margaret Waters of Dalton; aunt Ernestine Waters special friends Mike and Angie Parrish. At his request, there is to be no service.
