James Childers Obituary

Mr. James Childers, age 63, passed away on January 23, 2021, at Advent Gordon Hospital.

James was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church where loved attending. He was a gardener, loved fishing and boating.

Mr. Childers is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Elsie Childers: grandparents, Ephrain and Fairy Parris.

He was survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Frances Childers: daughter, Candus Lewis, of Chatsworth: son, Joel Childers, of Smyrna GA: grandchildren: Nadya Lewis, Teagan Lewis both of Chatsworth brother, Charles Childers of Emerson GA: sister Linda Cannon of Douglasville GA: great uncle Louis Newberry of Smyrna GA: best friend, Tom Billig.

The funeral service for Mr. Childers will be Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at 2 PM in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Rev. David Holcomb and Rev. Bruce Owens. Interment will be in the Murray Memorial Gardens.

The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Tuesday, January 27, 2021, from 5 PM to 9 PM.
