James Morris Burgess Obituary
James Morris Burgess, age 73, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, September 15, 2025. He was surrounded by his loving family.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Judy Hudson Burgess, and parents, Martha Jo. And Morris Burgess.
He is survived by his children and spouses; Chrissie and Rodney Deal of Chatsworth, Matt and Lorie Burgess; grandchildren Charity and T.J. Howington, Courtney and Robert Villagomez, Shelby and Jake Dawsonand Briar Deal; great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Emory Howington, Koa and Violet Villagomez, Wesley Dawson, sisters, Gail and Jerry Durham, Maxine and Danny Laney; brothers Kenneth Burgress; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
A memorial service to honor the life of James Morris Burgess will be 3 p.m. on Sunday, September 21, 2025, in the Chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Rev. Chuck Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
