Irby Osgood Prickett, age 90, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Quinton Memorial.
Irby was a S/Sgt in the United States Army serving 17 months in Korea. He was a Red Cross Volunteer for 12 ½ years serving in three hospitals in Atlanta, Dalton, and Chatsworth.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Maxine McCamy Prickett; second wife, Marcell Adams Prickett; parents, Hattie, and Noland Prickett: sister, Mattie Blackwell, brothers, Brantley Prickett Sr., and Lester Prickett.
He is survived by his children, daughter, Deborah Gironda (Stephanie) sons, David Prickett (Amy) and Duane Prickett; grandchildren, Katrice Ensley, Aidon, and Maxine Prickett and great-grandchildren, Rhilynn and Elijah Ensley; sister, GeDelle Taylor; several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
A service to honor the life of Irby Prickett will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct 14, 2023, at Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Rev. Harold Poteet officiating, with full Military rights. Interment will follow in The Center Valley Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, October 13, 2023, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
