Mrs. Helen Amelia Conley was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on March 7, 1931, the
daughter of Lyle and Marjorie Engleright. She moved to Dalton in 1971, where she
worked at Aladdin Mills for over twenty years. She also worked for several years at Big
Brothers/Big Sisters.
Helen was a charter member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Dalton, where she
was active in the women’s organization and fellowship activities, the Le Leche League,
office assistant, and reader. She served on the board of directors at Georgia Sheriff’s
Cherokee Estate and was active with the Dalton Little Theater.
Helen died on November 8, 2022 at Oaks at Dalton. She was preceded in death by her
husband Philip Conley, daughter Marjorie Ridley, brother Rex Woodring, and
granddaughter Krystal Spainhour.
She is survived by her brother, Jan Woodring; son Scott Conley; son-in-law Kerry
Ridley; daughter-in-law Susan Conley; grandchildren, Steven (Amy) Ridley, Kathy
(Dennis) Melville, Kevin (Theresa) Barnes, Meagan Conley, Morgan (Michael) Hubbard,
and Mason (Anna) Conley; great-grandchildren Kayla (Christian) Patterson, Keith
(Kimberly) Barnes, Kassidy (Luver) Lopez, Desmon Ridley, Emma Ridley, Peyton
Ridley, and Wade Ridley; and two great-great-granddaughters.
A special thank you to the staff and nurses at Oaks at Dalton and Heartlite Hospice for
their loving care of our Meemaw/Nana.
Visitation will be on Sunday, November 13, 2022, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Christ the
King Lutheran Church in Dalton, GA with a memorial service immediately following.
