Mr. Fredrick "Freddie" Calvin Bowers, age 74, went home to be with the Lord, on Wednesday, February, 28,2024 surrounded by his loved ones.
He was a great husband, father, and paw paw. He was of the Baptist faith, he loved the Lord Jesus Christ and would tell anyone that he came in contract with about him. He was the Chaplin of the American Legion Post 167 Chatsworth.
He is preceded in death by his parents, T.C. and Willene Bowers; brother, Mike “Squeaky” Bowers; special aunt, Claudell Bowers; mother and father-in-law Charles and Mae Davis; grandmother-in-law Hazel Martin Peden.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sandy Bowers of Chatsworth; children and spouses, Stacy and Dereck Bowers Blakeney Ray of Slocum TX, Tennie and Daniel Burk of Chatsworth, Quincy and Amy Bowers of Rocky Face; grandchildren and spouses, T.C. Bowers (Julia Dorsey) of Duluth GA, Evan Rice (Averi Burrell) of Chatsworth, Parker Wilson of San Antonio TX, Allie and Zachary Kelley of Kingsland GA, Connor Rice (Maddie Phelps), Mali Rice of Chatsworth, Bella, Katelynn and David Lindsay of Rocky Face, Katelyn Carroll; great-grandchild, Emerson Rae Kelly; sister Annice Elrod of Chatsworth; Several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survived.
A service to honor the life of Freddy Bowers will be at 2 pm Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Calvary Baptist Church, with Rev. Curt Thomason, and Rev. Danny Cochran officiating. The interment will be in the Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery,
He will lie in state from 1 pm to 2 pm.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, March 2,2023 from 2 pm to 9 pm
