Eloise Patterson, age 90, passed away peacefully in her home on December 23, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 20, 1934, in the cotton and corn fields north of Eton, Georgia, she learned to live a simple and steadfast lifestyle, much like the Appalachian Mountains that cradled the land she called home. Through every hardship, Eloise’s spirit sought warmth, light, and nurturing hope as naturally as her flower garden blooms in the spring.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Reverend AJ Patterson; sons, Gary and Danny Patterson; and son-in-law Mike Frazier.
She is survived by her beloved family, who clings to her memory with abiding tenderness, just as the dew clings to the rolling hills at first light. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Murray County Schools Foundation, paying tribute to Eloise’s steadfast devotion to learning and her firm belief that wisdom lies waiting in the quiet corners of a good book.
A service to honor the life of Eloise Patterson will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024 at 11am in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Randy Jackson and Reverend Robbie Chastain officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on December 29, 2024 from 4 to 8pm. The interment will be at Fairy Valley Cemetery.
Arrangements made with integrity by Shawn Chapman Funeral Home Crematory and Monuments.
