Edward Springfield Obituary

Edward Springfield, Retired Captain, of Murray Co Sheriff's Office, passed peacefully at home on November 17. Edward was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He loved God, family, and his country, proudly serving in the US Army on a tour in Vietnam. He worked for Dalton Paving for years until he went into a career in law enforcement, proudly serving Murray County for almost 28 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Steed and Evelyn Springfield; father & mother in law, Harlie and Roberta Langford; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Eddie and Judy Langford.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Janeece Langford Springfield, son and daughter-in-law Joshua and Kimberly Springfield of Blairsville GA, daughter and son-in-law, Jenny and Brian Tardie of Chatsworth, GA.like his daughter, Robyn, and Bobby Waller of Chatsworth, GA;.grandchildren Alexandra and Bailey Hawkins, Zoee Tardie and Zach Marshall, Avery, Reilly, and Eleana Springfield. Kali Springfield, Britney Springfield, and Gabe Springfield. Marissa Elrod, Matthew Waller; great-grandson Flynt Hill; sister and brother-in-law Shelia and Robert Dotson, sister-in-law Laurette Davis, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gary and Delaine Langford, and Jack Langford. special nephews, Tony, Tim, and Brett Dotson and Todd Langford. special nieces Christy Capehart, Amy Langford, Lauren Harper, and Mallory Langford; best friend, Calvin Ledford. His very close and loved friends Stephanie Ensley, Kim Johnson, Carmen Hampton, Celeste Lewis, Tom Rhodes, special cousins, Donna Laney, Jamie Patterson, Gary Red, and many, many others he loved dearly.

A service to honor the life of Edward Springfield will be 4 pm Monday, November 21, 2022, in the Chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home, with Bro. John Bagley officiating.
