Eber Eugene Gowan

Eber Eugene Gowan, age 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov 19, 2022, at his son's home. He was born October 30th, 1931 in Spartanburg, SC. He served with the Navy in San Diego from 1951 - 1955.  He graduated from the University of South Carolina. He married the love of his life, Glynda Wallace, on Dec. 30, 1961, in Bogart, GA.  They went on to have five children and raised them in Dalton, GA.

Eber formed and operated Gowan Mobile Homes for many years, in Dalton, GA, and was known to be an extremely fair and intelligent businessman. When he gave you his word he meant it.

Eber was a dedicated and loving husband and father.  Glynda and Eber traveled the world extensively, and he was incredibly adventurous.  He was known for his love of scuba diving, snow skiing, golfing, heli-skiing, skydiving, and bungee jumping.  He taught his children many lessons and skills that they will cherish for a lifetime. 

His beautiful life and memory will be honored and kept alive by his beloved brother and his spouse Ronald and Elaine, his five children and spouses, Christopher and Diane Gowan, Rick and Lisa Gowan, Kim and Tom Ryan, Jeff and Kinma Gowan, Jan and Shannon Miners, ten grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
There will be no service at this time.
