Douglas Man Harris, 75, of Calhoun, GA, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2025. He was a loving and gentle man whose presence brought comfort, faith, and joy to all who knew him.
Born on March 26, 1950, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Douglas lived a life centered on family, faith, and the simple joys that made him happiest. A devoted Georgia Bulldogs fan, he rarely missed a chance to cheer for his Dawgs, and he loved watching the Atlanta Braves. In his younger years, he also enjoyed spending time on the golf course.
Douglas was a kind and sensitive man whose love for God profoundly shaped his life. He served faithfully as a deacon at his former church and poured his heart into his family and community. His legacy of faith, kindness, and devotion will live on through those who loved him most.
He is survived by his wife, Pamela Harris, his son Joshua Harris, his daughter-in-law Shaunda Harris, his brother Ben Harris, and his beloved grandchildren Jada Harris, Revalyn Harris, and Kaizer Harris, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Harris; mother, Helen Harris; brothers Fred Harris and Johnny Harris; and sister Pat Harris.
A celebration of Douglas’s life will be held at a later date in the beautiful Smoky Mountains, where friends and family will gather to share memories, tell stories, and honor the man he was and the things he loved. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Douglas by showing kindness to others and, of course, cheering “Go Dawgs!” in his memory.
Arrangements are made with integrity by Shawn Chapman Funeral Home, Crematory, and Monument.
