Dorothy “Dortha” Beatrice (Bingham) Fenton, age 84, of Chatsworth, passed from this life after a long battle with Dementia/Alzheimer’s on Monday, September 1, 2025.

She was born in Summerville, Ga, on November 9, 1940, to her beloved parents, Robert and Lucille Bingham. Also preceded in death by her loving husband Louis Fenton; brothers and sister, R.L. Bingham, Norman Bingham, Nellie Jo Leigh, and James and Mary Francis Bingham; son-in-law, Buddy Stone.

She is survived by her sister, Mary Treadwell; sister- in- law, Joy Bingham; children, Billie and David Belcher, Rebecca Stone, John and Linda Brumlow; grandchildren, Jonathan and Patty Bradley, Jennifer Bradley, Clark and Trudy Harris, Justin and Stacy Stone, Jeremy Stone, and Joey Warren. 17 great-grandchildren, 6 great great-great-grandchildren, and 11 nieces and nephews.

Later in life, she received her GED Diploma with Governor’s Honors. She took an early retirement from Candlewick Yarns in Chatsworth, GA, to travel with her husband, Louis Fenton. They went to Alaska twice and visited a lot of National Parks along the way. There were many trips to Louis’ Air Force Reunions. They also loved camping at River Valley in Cherokee, NC.

Services for Dorothy “Dortha” Fenton will be Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Steve Youngblood and Lane Winkler officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025.

The interment will be at the National Cemetery with her loving husband, Louis. No flowers will be allowed at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Smyrna Gospel Tabernacle. 3351 Hwy 225 South, Chatsworth, GA 30705
