Donald Leary Smith, age 82, of Dalton, passed away Friday, August 18, 2023.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William, and Nellie Smith; daughter, Deborah Ann Smith, great-grand son, Alex Parker; sister, Norma Jean Eash.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Linda Smith; children and spouses, Cheryl Parker, Pam and Robert Hughes, Donald II, and Stephanie Smith; grandchildren and spouses, Michael and Jordon Smith, Robbie and Kayla Hughes, Chad, and Shannon Hughes, Kristen Parker, Tenny Parker, Logan Smith Brandon Smith, Debra Smith, and Melissa Hughes; special niece Paula Smith; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive; sibling and spouses, Stephen and Terri Smith, Joyce and Robert Cartmill and James R. Smith.
A service to honor the life of Donald Leary Smith will be 12 pm Monday, August 21, 2023, in the Chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Cochran officiating. The interment will be in the Liberty Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 am to 12 pm.
