David Lin Burger “Dirty Dave”, age 81, of Chatsworth, passed away July 3, 2025, at Gordon Health and Rehabilitation in Calhoun under the care of Affinis Hospice he was very well taken care of.
He was born June 20, 1944, in High Point, NC, to the late Guy and Louise Haynes Burger.
David loved to help everyone. He always had a smile on his face and a hug to give. He was a kind and generous person. He will be greatly missed by so many.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Louise Haynes Burger; sisters, Barbara Martin, Audrie Graves, Alice Goodwin, Virginia Hodges, and Jackie Burger; and brothers, Russell, Daniel, and Tony Burger.
He is survived by his daughter, Neva King, grandson, Isaiah King; his favorite sister, Donna Weaver; a special niece, Mandy Weaver (Smart Alleck), and several other nieces and nephews, and Many friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be his nephews, Eddie and Hunter Goodwin, Christoper Elliott, Brayden Payne, Jim Ed Wood, and Cody Goss.
A service to honor the life of David Burger will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2025, in the Chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with pastor Jeff Johnson officiating. The interment will be in the Fairy Valley Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to the funeral hour.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Gordon Health and Rehabilitation and the staff at Affinis Hospice for providing the wonderful care, compassion, and Love that was given to David.
