Cody Bivens went to be with the Lord, Monday, August 11, 2025. He is preceded in death by his father, Carson Odell Bivens; Grandfather, Bill Lackey of Tellico, TN; grandparents Ralph and Arvetta Plott of Cohutta; and Wilburn and Beatrice Bivens.

He is survived by his son, Jentzen Cole Bivens; stepdaughter, Makayla Hall; mother, Marcia Bivens; Uncle, Earl Lackey; and Special Great Aunt and Uncle, Verlon (Peggy) Gladden. Special aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends also survive.

In Cody’s own words: “I’m not the best person, but I believe in Jesus Christ. I do the best I can, but I’m by no means a preacher or a deacon. I will try to help everyone. I can’t save anyone, but I know there is a God, Jesus Christ, and he saved us all. Amen!”

He was a big people person who tried to be good to everyone.

A service to honor the life of Mr. Cody Bivens will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Chad Shook officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 15, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Interment will be held at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Cohutta, Ga.
