Carolyn Frances "Fannie" Wilson passed away on December 10, 2022, at the age of 68, just a week shy of her 69th birthday. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
She was born December 17, 1953, to the late James and Oma Moss and was surrounded by 4 sisters and 3 brothers. On February 10, 1970, she married James Edward "Dickie" Wilson and shared 44 years of marriage before his passing on November 18, 2014. Together they had two children: James Jonathon Wilson and Heather Nicole Wilson.
Frances loved spending time with her family and creating beautiful memories. Everyone she met knew her door was open, and they'd always have a home and a friend anywhere she was. children were always greeted with a popsicle, and a smile, and told them to call her Nanny. The only thing stronger than her bond with her family was her faith in God. She lived her life for the Lord, and it was common to find her with her bible reading or listening to gospel music.
She is survived by her daughter, Heather Wilson; son and daughter-in-law Jonathon and Kara Wilson; grandchildren Brittney and Dallas York. Colby and Kendra Wilson; Noah and Aubrie Price, Nicole Gray, Garrett Gray; great-grandchildren Silas, Bentley, Riley, Leah, and Blakelyn.
Services to celebrate the life of Frances will be held Thursday, December 15, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Pastor Ricky Spence officiating. The family will receive family and friends at Shawn Chapman Funeral home on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, from 4 pm to 9 pm and Wednesday, December 14, 2022 all day. She will be laid to rest at Flat Branch Baptist Church Cemetery located in Ellijay with her late husband James Edward Wilson. Pallbearers will be Jonathon Wilson, Colby Wilson, Garrett Gray, Noah Price, Bryan Spence, and Dallas York. In lieu of flowers, please donate blankets and gifts to the residents of Ridgewood Manor located in Dalton, GA.
