Carolyn Hammontree

Mrs. Carolyn Hooker Hammontree : born April 27, 1947 ( age 71) of Dalton went home to be with her loving Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on  Friday August 10, 2018.

She was a loving devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend.

At the age of 10 years old, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She loved serving her Lord and was faithful and willing to do the task he had set before her. She is a member of Grace Baptist Church in the Dawnville community. During her years of service for the Lord, she has been a member and pianist at Mt. View Baptist Church in Chatsworth, Happy Valley Baptist Church in Dalton, New Hope Baptist Church in Chatsworth, Grace Baptist Church in Dawnville, Calvary Baptist Church in Tunnel Hill and Bethesda Baptist Church in Walker County.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Rev. Jerry E. Hammontree, her parents Harce and Mary Hooker, her mother-in-law and father-in-law Alvish and Vesta Hammontree and her brothers-in-law  James Larry Hammontree and Earl Travis Hammontree.

She is survived by her Daughters and Sons-in-law Tammy and Gregory Bedwell of Resaca, Chrissie and Brian Cline of Dalton, Son and daughter-in-law Scott and Cindy Hammontree of Calhoun. Grandchildren, Dylan Hammontree, LeAnn and Donald King, Hunter Cline, Braydon Hammontree, Luke Bedwell, Emma Bedwell and Landon Hammontree. Brother and Sister-in-law Tim and Carolyn Hooker of Dalton, Sister and Brother-in-law Sandy and Nathan Hammett of Chatsworth, Sisters-in-law and Brothers-in-law Rhonda and Grady Patterson of Crandall, Eileen and Evan Lawson of Dalton, nieces, nephews and her newest extended family of Doctors, nurses, CNAs and staff of Regency Park Health Care and Rehab Center in Dalton.

Visitation will be  Monday, August 13, 2018, 5 till 9 pm at Shawn Chapman Funeral Home in Chatsworth and the celebration of life service of Mrs. Hammontree will be Tuesday 3 pm at Grace Baptist Church in Dawnville with Pastor Chris Corbin, Rev. Steve Corbin and  Rev. Hunter Cline officiating. The body will lie in state Tuesday from 10 am till the funeral hour. Interment will follow in the Grace Baptist Church Cemetery.
