Mr. Carl Fonzo Cochran, age 79, passed away on September 8, 2020, at his residence surrounded by his large loving family. He was a deacon of 47 years at Mountain View Baptist Church and a member for much longer than that. He held many positions in the church, but most of all he loved serving his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Carl owned Old Federal Rug where he raised his four children and employed all members of his family. Carl loved his whole family. Children have countless stories about their daddy.
Carl is preceded in death by his wife, Gail Cochran: daughter Connie Buff: parents, Alfonzo and Essie Cochran: brothers Jimmy and James Cochran: sisters Evie Cochran, Nora Bryant, and Betty Ash.
He is survived by his son, David Cochran: son and daughter in law John and Ramona Cochran: daughters, Sandra Cochran, Emily Dayton: grandchildren, Marcus, Daniel, Hallie, and Cassandra (Cassie) Dayton, Joseph Cochran, Aaron Schweitzer, and several other grandchildren: sisters, Helen Noland, Sharon Baker, Karen Mulkey, Christine Forrest: sisters and brothers-in-laws, Vivian and James Forrest, Brenda and Jimmy Bowen: several nieces and nephews and cousins also survive.
Services for Mr. Cochran will be held at 4 PM Friday, September 11, 2020, at Mountain View Baptist Church, with Rev. Josh Cowart, Rev. Robbie Chastain, and Rev. Randy Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery. The Family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Thursday, September 10, 2020, from 5 PM to 9 PM.
