Betty Sue Nelson Obituary

Betty Sue Nelson, age 87, passed away on January 17, 2025.


She was a Member of Holly Creek Baptist Church. She was awarded “Secretary of the Year” and was a master gardener. Betty will be remembered for her love of God, family, and gardening, as well as her mischievous sense of humor, her smile, and her contagious laugh.


She is preceded in death by, Tom Nelson (husband) Lee G. and Mildred V. Elrod (parents)Phillip and Helen Elrod (brother and sister-in-law) Robert Elrod (brother) Lorraine Bramblett (sister) Gerald Anthony (Tony) Lofty (son, Marine) Steven Anthony (grandson)


She is survived by: Diane and Randy Snow (daughter and son-in-law) David and Judy Lofty (son and daughter-in-law) Jimmie and Hugh Pritchett (sister and brother-in-law) Lee and Jackie Elrod (brother and sister-in-law) 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; As well as plenty of great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews


A memorial gathering to celebrate the life of Betty Sue Nelson will be from 1 pm to 3 pm on Saturday, January 25, 2025.at Shawn Chapman Funeral Home.
