Mrs. Betty Ruth Craig, age 72, of Marietta and formerly of Dalton, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2024, at Wellstar Hospital in Kennestone, surrounded by her loving family.
Betty was born on November 14, 1951, in Crossville, TN to parents Lynn and Jessie Barnwell. She was a devoted mother, nana, and sister, known for her kindness and love of family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lynn and Jessie Barnwell, and her husband Harlan Milton Craig.
She is survived by her loving children Lou Ann Wilbanks of Nashville, TN, and George Wilbanks of Crab Orchard, TN, Jessica Waggoner of Marietta, GA, and Michelle Lee of Dalton, GA, her
grandchildren Logan Wilbanks-Davidson, Malachi Ray, Aiden Dills, Kyleigh Waggoner, her sisters, Boots Posey, Leta Wellman and Dottie Black, several nieces and nephews, and her special pet
Evie.
The funeral service to celebrate Betty’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 2 PM in the
chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Rev.Charlie Bridges, and John Teeple officiating. The interment
will be in Whitfield Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, August 26, 2024, from 5 until 9 PM.
