Benjamin Ryan “Ryno” Tankersley, age 50 of Chatsworth, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 16, 2023.
Ryno was an avid Georgia Tech football fan. He loved the Lord, his family, and his church family unconditionally, He loved to sing and listen to all sorts of music, he was a great entertainer, he was a 1991 graduate of Murray County High School where he played football and was the team captain his senior year. His hobbies were mountain biking and trout fishing. The main thing you would notice about “Ryno” was his infectious smile that would light up any room.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Waldo and Mary Edna Tankersley, Kiser and Mattie Plumley.
He is survived by his children, Rylan Tankersley, and Kaylee Tankersley both of Chatsworth; parents, Benny and Debra Tankersley, Cathy and Jack Chadwick all of Chatsworth; sister, Amanda Tankersley, brother, Heath (Tara) Jones; his faithful furry companion “Floyd”; a host of aunts, uncle, nieces, cousins and many friends that he considered family, also survive.
A service to honor the life of Ryan “Ryno” Tankersley will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, in the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Fergerson officiating. The interment will be in the Serenity Hills Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Donations can also be made to the Shining Light Baptist Church in honor of Ryan.
