Aretta Sue Newton Obituary
Aretta Sue Newton, age 87, of Chatsworth, passed away Friday, March 8, 2024, at her residence.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Newton; parents Venus and Ella Casey; and her infant son Edwin Ray Burns.
She is survived by her children, Mary (Skip) Akers, Jif Gates, Venus (Cheryl) Newton, Adrian Ernest Newton (Teressa Bloodworth), and Lucretia Newton (Mike Henderson); 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

A service to honor the life of Aretta Sue Newton will be at 2 pm Tuesday, March 12, 2023, in the Chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Stover officiating. The interment will be in the Murray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, March 11, 2024, from 5 pm to 8 pm.
