Mr. Melvyn Douglas "Doug". Jones age 62 of Dalton passed away Friday March 31, 2017 at Hamilton Medical Center.
Doug was an avid golfer and loved attending all the activities with his children and grandchildren. He was a true friend to all who knew him but most important he was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John B. and Janelle Jones, and older brother Charles Jones.
Doug is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Teresa Jones. Children and spouses Scott and Cynthia Jones of Dalton, Melissa and Steven Harper of Chatsworth, Daughter and fiance, Hope and Nathan Uglow of Chatsworth. Grandchildren Taylor Harper, Shelby Jones, Austin Young, Brady Harper, and Emma Harper. Step grandchildren, Grace Patterson, Evalina and Zoey Uglow.
Funeral services will be Tuesday 2 pm at the chapel of Shawn Chapman Funeral Home with Chaplin Raymond McCraney officiating. Interment will follow in the Serenity Hills Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday 5 till 9 pm.
